I coach to build empathetic, courageous student-athletes with a drive to be great in the classroom, on the court, and in the community.
The 2016-2017 season will be my first as a coach but far from my first around athletics. I swam for two years during my time at Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas (where I graduated in 2007), as well as playing basketball, baseball, and volleyball growing up. When my kidney transplant in 2003 forced me off of the court and field, I became a swimmer and sports journalist. In college, I was the beat writer for men’s college basketball at Saint Louis University, where I had the opportunity to pick the brain of the late hall of fame coach, Rick Majerus.
After a couple of health speed bumps, I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2013 with a degree in Literary Studies. I have taught both freshman and sophomore English during my three years at Berkner High School, and I look forward to coaching Lady Ram Volleyball and Basketball during this school year.
