On Friday the Rams hosted RHS at Berkner Ram Ballpark and both teams treated their fans to free baseball as they would go 3 extras to play 10 complete innings. The Eagles initiated the scoring plating single runs in the second and third innings. The Rams responded with 2 runs of their own in the fourth when only a single hit from Soph Cole Hill combined with a dropped third strike and 2 walks would score Hill and Junior Nick McLemore. The 2-2 tie would stand until the seventh when the Eagles scored 2 additional runs pressuring Berkner’s last 3 outs. Stepping in and stepping up were Senior Elias Munoz and Soph Bryce Drayton who led off the bottom of the seventh with back to back singles. Senior Garrett Randall then induced a 4-pitch walk to load the bases. Junior Nick McLemore hit into a fielder’s choice scoring Munoz and Junior Edwin Silguero reached on error scoring Drayton. Both teams would put up 0’s in the eighth & ninth innings. Richardson struck in the tenth with 2 additional runs. Berkner responded when Senior Elias Munoz reached base on an error. With 2 outs Soph Cole Hill doubled to score Munoz and pull the Rams to within a single run. On Friday the Rams hosted Coppell at Berkner Ram Ballpark. Sr Garrett Randall stepped up to face the Cowboys and for 5 innings kept them scoreless with the game tied at 0. The Rams fought the Cowboys hard and both teams had to deal with nature’s resolve and 2 lightning delays. The Rams posted a single run in the bottom of the 5th inning when Soph Cole Hill led off reaching on an error by the third baseman. Jr Nick McLemore followed with a single and Jr Edwin Silguero laid down a sacrifice bunt to move them to 2nd & 3rd base with 1 out. Soph Alexis Munoz then battled an 8-pitch at bat that finished with a single up the middle that would plate Hill but see McLemore out at the plate trying to follow him home. With a 1-0 lead the Rams would allow a single Coppell run when nature decided to intervene for a third time. With both coaches agreeing that enough was enough the game would see itself finished on Saturday. As play resumed Coppell plated 5 additional runs to finish the top of the 6th inning and then closed out the 7th inning and game two 6-1.
