Berkner drops second to Skyline
Skyline entered the night with a chance to clinch their first playoff spot in several years. They came out swinging against Rams Starting pitcher Sr Logan Ehr and tallied 4 runs in the top of the first and an additional run in the top of the second. The Raiders cruised the rest of the way sealing the win 9-3.
Berkner drops Game to Skyline
Berkner traveled to Skyline Tuesday for a 5p matchup. Berkner was lead by Jr Bryce Drayton with 3 hits. Jr Alexis Munoz & Sr Edwin Silguero had 2 hits apiece. Silguero pitched 5 innings for the Rams. The Raiders offense however proved better today and they took the victory 11-3.
Berkner Falls to RHS
In game 2 of the Tovar Tussle at RHS The Rams jumped on the Eagles quickly and emphatically with a 3-spot in the top of the 1st inning. The Eagles would counter with a single run and for the first few innings Friday night both teams were in a punch counter-punch game. When the tally reached 5-5 the Eagles were able to fly away from the Rams ending the game in the 6th inning 16-6.
Berkner Beats RHS
The Berkner Varsity took game 1 of the annual Tovar Tussle with RHS at Berkner RAM Ballpark by a score of 2-0. The game remained even for most innings with both Berkner runs scored by a hbp and a wild pitch.
JV drops DH to RHS
The Berkner JV squad dropped a DH to RHS Wednesday at Berkner RAM Ballpark. Both games were plagued by errors by the Rams extending Eagle innings and adding to the deficits that would seal both games.
Berkner falls to Molina
It was a game of missed opportunities for the Rams as they played Dallas Molina Friday night at Mountain View College. Highlights for the Rams included Jr Cole Hill reaching base twice by hits and Fr Allen Williams reaching base twice by walks. Missed opportunities would leave too many men stranded as the Rams dropped G2 to Molina 4-2.
Hudson had a cardiac event that was caused by the Mono Virus on April 16. Hudi has been in ICU for 2 ½ weeks, and is still fighting. After he was stabilized, a few days after arriving at Children’s Hospital, they discovered that he has Sepsis, which has been slowing down all progress. Antibiotics have appeared to start attacking the infection in the past couple of days. They can’t get him off of any of the machines he’s hooked up to until that infection is gone, because it’s not allowing anything to heal or function properly. The right side of his heart needs to start healing and/or showing function, or we might have to look at a heart transplant. On top of all of that, they discovered that at some point there was a stroke. When his paralytic is lifted, he is showing good signs of recognition and activity. He responds to seeing his mother (Kelly) and gives the “crazy eyebrows” to the nurses because he doesn’t know them, which is a good sign.
LH Softball team and the Berkner Softball team have put together a fundraiser that will take place on Thursday 4/11. The flyer is pictured below and attached as well. It will be a great time for all, and will help raise money for Kelly Baker and her family. There will be Concessions, BBQ, Raffle Prizes, and Home Runs! Please come out and support!
Berkner JV defeats Molina 5-2
Last night at Berkner RAM Ballpark the JV squad hosted Dallas Molina. Fr Jacob Healey toed the rubber for the Rams to face a solid, experienced Molina squad. The Rams committed an error in ea of the first 2 innings but very good pitching along with confident teamwork allowed the Rams to erase those errors. As with recent games the Rams would score first when Fr pinch runner Joshua Trutna scored tagging from 3rd on a sac fly. While errors seemed to find the Rams on this night their defense was picked up by teammates and good contact hitting in every home half of innings. Fr Gianni Cade would drop a very good sac bunt to move 2 runners into scoring position and Fr Andrew Schaeffer would add a double just inside the bag at third for 2 rbi. A total team effort won the first district game of the season for the JV moving their season win-column total to 4.
Berkner Faces Molina in Close Game
Your Berkner Varsity played Dallas Molina at Berkner RAM Ballpark on Tuesday. The game started off well when Jr Cole Hill and Sr Edwin Silguero ea reached base on hbp in the top of the first. Unfortunately the Ram bats behind them couldn’t find that early spark to establish a lead. Molina snuck across single runs in separate innings and took game 1 by a score of 2-0.
